  • A Serum that delivers for pigmented, sun-damaged, or mature skin, in a gentle yet extremely effective way? Yes please. Vitamin A is infamous for a reason; it can do it all.

Vitamin A is an integral nutrient for skin function fullstop. It works deep down on the basement membrane of the skin, encouraging skin cell production. This helps to speed up cellular turnover, which is an effective strategy for slowing down ageing, and reducing congestion in the skin. It’s also helpful for repairing the skin barrier, which is something we want our everyday topicals to support.

If you have oily skin, Vitamin A helps to reduce sebaceous gland activity which is an important part of regulating oil production.

Suitable for oily, combination, normal, mature and pigmented skin types.

And for our vegan friends, you can rest assured our Vitamin A is completely free of animal products. Retinol is considered animal-derived Vitamin A, often extracted from shark liver oil. Our Retinyl Palmitate is a purely plant-based retinoid form of Vitamin A.

P.S Our serums last an average of 6-12 weeks depending on frequency of use.

  • You’ve no doubt heard of retinol, the anti-ageing ingredient (aka Vitamin A) that celebrities swear by. As well as helping to minimise fine lines by stimulating cell turnover, it’s also prescribed for improving pigmentation, acne, and skin texture. Due to its potent activity retinol can also come with side-effects such as redness and peeling – especially if you have sensitive skin. I see this a lot at The Acne & Eczema Clinic. Sometimes this is also due to the way that the retinol is being applied. It will cause more irritation if applied straight onto the skin without a bit of a buffer. This is also why I’ve opted for a deliciously nourishing and protective oil base.

As a Naturopath, my guiding ethos is to first do no harm, which is why I’ve opted to use a gentler Vitamin A in this serum, called retinyl palmitate. It’s the mildest form of retinol, so it still does all the good stuff - boosting collagen production, minimising fine lines, and smoothing skin texture – but without irritation. It’s also a vegan option, which I think is important to prioritise (which is probably obvious from having an entirely vegan skincare line).

I love to use my Vitamin Serum A most of the year. I love how hydrating it is. I stop using this serum during summer, as I’m a freckly girl as it is and I want to do all I can to reduce premature ageing from sun exposure.

PS. If you love the nourishment from this serum, you’ll love our Ancient Oil Elixir.

  • Massage a pea-sized amount (half to full pump) onto face at night only, after cleansing.

Allow to absorb, then follow with your favourite moisturiser.

    Avoid the eye area.

TIP: Serums are best used for 3 months’ at a time. Serums are best applied from lightest-weight to heaviest-weight. This serum is in a nourishing oil base, so is best applied as your last serum as this makes it a heavier product.

Vitamin A increases photosensitivity, which makes skin more sensitive to the sun. It is imperative to use an SPF daily when using any Vitamin A to minimise the increased risk of sun damage. This is also why it’s important to use vitamin A at night only.

    This formula is vegan.

This formula should not be used whilst pregnant or breastfeeding.
